My grandfather & grandmother came to live on the Maypole 1900 & had the choice of houses to buy, they settled on 10 Beaconsfield Rd. & paid the princely sum ( according to my grandmother), of 200 pounds.
My grandfather worked as an attendant at Bexley Hospital, learning 1st. aid & 2nd. aid, retiring in 1936 after 33 1/3rd. years, the time required to get a full pension, at that time. Steve Parker 3  out of 3 found this valuable. Do you?
