Despite the school's name I can only recall a single occasion when the maypole was set up in the playground. Each child held a tape (they varied in colour) & danced round the maypole in the opposite direction to its neighbour,at the same time interweaving. By the end the tapes were drawn tightly round the pole creating an interesting striped effect. Did anybody else do this?
