I've just joined the website today so my reply to the donkey mystery is a little delayed.
My elder sister tells me that the donkeys were owned by "Donkey" Smith. A gentleman who lived in the end house on the east side of Beaconsfield Road. The pictures were probably taken before the start of the war. I don't remember the donkeys but do remember Mr Smith living there.

My computer went down before I finished sending these pictures taken by my father who lived in North Cray Road. They were taken on his Vest Pocket Kodak when it must have been nearly new. I still have it and it is probably still in working order, but this size film is long gone so it's just an heirloom.
